Megajuegos

Giant tabletop games for 50+ players. I founded the group and led it.

Megajuegos is an Argentine group that runs megagames: strategy, diplomacy and negotiation games for 50 or more people at the same time. Players are split into teams and each takes a role that fits the theme, such as president, governor or defence minister. Turns have a fixed time and two phases: first you carry out your role’s activities, then you meet your team to share information and plan.

I founded the group and led it from 2016 to 2022. Our first game was Vigilen los Cielos, a local adaptation of Jim Wallman’s Watch the Skies. We also ran Independencia, el Megajuego, the first megagame created entirely in Argentina.

The games are run by volunteers. Ticket revenue covers the running costs and funds new games, and part of it goes to the cooperadoras of the public schools that host them.
