Super Ventilagon

The spinning-fan game that Ventilastation grew out of.

Super Ventilagon is the second electromechanical game from the Club de Jaqueo, after Reflektor. It’s inspired by Super Hexagon: you steer a ship through a maze of light.

An Arduino and 32 LEDs spin at 1000 RPM on a fan blade, and all the game code runs on the Arduino. Two Wixels link the spinning part with the stationary base, where a Raspberry Pi plays the music and sound effects.

The code and hardware are free and open, and the project coverage includes Make Magazine, Hackaday and the Atmel Blog. The team: bits by alecu, volts by Jorge, waves by Cris.

Its successor, Ventilastation, turned the idea into a general console.
